Bush demanded Iraq connection to Sept. 11
Monday, March 29th, 2004In an interview on NPR’s Fresh Air, former White House adviser Richard Clarke insists that he told President Bush on September 12, 2001 that there was no evidence whatsoever of any connection between Iraq and al Qaeda. Bush was unwilling to accept that analysis, and demanded that the intelligence be “updated” until it fit with his pre-determined conclusion: that September 11 justified an invasion of Iraq.
